Boo!

Hi all! I got a little distracted from my "to do" list last night. I had written to make something for my door for Halloween on my massive list but crossed it off due to a lack of time. Then I was at one of my favorite fabric stores (Brodbents in Lehi for all you Utahans) to pick up some supplies for gifts I'm working on. Right inside the door was all their yummy Halloween fabrics 40% off. I'm a sucker for scrumptious fabrics...so I bought a yard of my favorite (Scribble Monsters by Clothworks) and paired it with some fabrics from home.

I cut the fabric in 1x8 inch strips. A couple hours and one Project Runway episode later I wasn't even around the first row. It's huge! After 4.5 yards worth of fabric strips I made it around three of the rows and left one of the middle rows blank. I was out of fabric.

You can see a fabric wreath tutorial here.

The burlap "boo" is one of the projects we made at our Young Women's activity this week. It's done with the whole freezer paper stencil (how to here). I didn't finish mine so I just added some pompoms and ribbon and attached is to my wreath.

I was rushing to get my new crafty creation on the door before my husband returned home from work tonight. My dear honey Joshua walks through the door- I say, "so what do you think?" His reply was less than desirable. He didn't even notice the gargantuan 24 inch wreath covering the front door! Bah. Men. :)

  8. Your wreath turned out fantastic! I love the burlap banner it added the perfect touch. I love Rag Wreaths - made my first one this past July 4th and it took 4 yds of fabric and too many late nights. I think it's well worth it because they always turn out so pretty. Stopped by from Vintage Gwen link party... (new follower) AJ@queenofmynest
