It was my mother-in-law's birthday yesterday. When we celebrate our big day at her house she always hangs a cardboard happy birthday banner up. You know the shiny foil type. It's special when the banner is displayed on your day. For her birthday I decided to make her a new banner to hang on her mantle. One not so disposable.
For my banner I used two charm packs in Farm Fresh by October Afternoon for Riley Blake. I wanted it to look good from all sides so I matched up the back with identical fabric to the front and had a few leftovers. I was going to applique on the letters but after using the freezer paper on my Boo wreath I decided to go that route. So much faster. A pack of extra wide bias tape, some paint, and thread and that's all there is to it.
And I bet she loved it!!! How could she not, it was darling. You are so creative! xoxoxoxo
