Easter Pillow Cover- Carrots 25 Cents

The final pillow cover for the holiday pillow set I've been making for my mother and mother-in-law for last years Christmas. It was a gift that kept on giving.

If you missed the others here is a list-

And finally Easter. Christmas gift finally complete. This is one of my favorites. For my pillow cover I bought a heavy canvas for a sturdy cover. It's an interactive pillow for grandma's house. Had to make sure it could hold up. I then used my Cricut and the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge to cut out the words on freezer paper. I ironed the freezer paper onto my pocket and stenciled in black. The canvas is a heavier weaved fabric so it bled a bit more than cotton usually does. Gives it character. :) I then used this tut for the carrots but made them a bit bigger. I cut the triangles at 3.5X8.5 and the leaf template at 2.5X3.5 inches. I lined the pocket, sewed it on, and made an envelope style pillow cover.

Hope you dig it. I know the Easter Bunny will...

  1. How do you get the freezer paper to stick firmly so you can paint the stencil? Iron it on? Does that leave a wax or sticky residue? Curious

    1. You iron it on shiny side down (steam turned off on your iron). It peels off after without leaving any residue.
