Will Craft for Warmth
Ugh, the temperature was in the negatives this morning. I'm chronically cold as it is and I'm pretty sure sitting in front of the fireplace all day with a blanket on is frowned upon. I do not function well when I'm an ice cube. My husband has been attempting (mostly teasing) to talk me into moving our family to the Bahamas. It sounds pretty enticing this time of year here in the snowy state of Utah. Making something to keep me warm sounded easier...though sitting in front of the fireplace with a blanket isn't so bad either.
I had a Moda Honey Bun (a precut roll of coordinating fabric- each strip is 1 ½ ” x 45”) on hand and sewed the strips together for the front. I then ironed it flat and cut it into 7.5"x11" squares. The back is fleece. Fill then with beans or rice and microwave for 90 seconds. I have one on my feet as we speak (I type).
You can also make an owl warmer using my free pattern here for the kiddies. I embroidered some eyelashes on this one to make her a bit more girly.
Those are so cute! This makes me want to make some cute new feet warmers. I'm always cold. :)

Oh I've got to make some of these. My daughter and her BFF always have cold feet and hands.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love the owl. As I comment my hands are ice on the keyboard as well. We've been trying not to turn the heat on to save money. But my hands and feet are so cold they ache! I will have to make these, thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteoh dear, I do sympathise. It's quite mild here, according to the weather people, but we live in an old house and the boiler has broken down so we're freezing! Love your warmers/
ReplyDeleteI love your idea and your owl however I got an error message when I clicked the .pdf link for Dropbox both here and on Pinterest. Is there another way to access the pattern? I love your ideas!
ReplyDeleteI need one of those NOW!!!! :) Thanks for linking up!
