Quick & Easy

DIY infinity scarf

Hi all! I've got a couple of smaller projects to share with you today. One day while my kids and I were buying fabric, my daughter picked out this stretchy and sparkly turquoise fabric and asked me to make her a scarf out of it. I purchased a third of a yard. I sewed the fabric length-wise into a tube, flipped it, then sewed the ends together, making a super quick infinity scarf. As you can see from the photo, she loves it. She usually refuses to have her picture taken without some sort of bribery involved. Today she posed for me without asking.

I jumped on the bandwagon and cut the sleeves off an old sweater to make my own leg warmers.

One of my fab friends was put in charge of the decor for our LDS ward's Christmas party. She had 1,500 stars cut out of an old book and we sewed them into a simple garland. I wrapped it around an empty cereal box as I went.

It was the best decorated ward party I'd ever been to. Hands down. She rocks.

And my quick and easy centerpiece for our kitchen table. Ornaments and jingle bells in a dish. The cut stars are really for the project above. :) Just spicing my lame-o photos up for you.

Finished staining my new pre-Christmas gift from my hubby this morning. Master bedroom is coming along. The headboard is not at all like the one in my mood board, but after looking over my "bedrooms" pinterest board and finishing my dresser, I felt this better fit the feel we are going for.

Anybody else rushing to get done with Christmas projects? I'm knee-deep in multiple projects and hoping they start wrapping up soon. I get to start unpicking now. Little issue to work out on my kids' gifts for their friends...

  1. I agree with you about the Ward Christmas Party. I really think it was the best one ever. Decorations and program and everything. And that cute little skirt for your daughter you posted last week? Adorable!!! My Christmas projects all involve wrapping this year. We're doing fewer presents so I figure they may as well all look phenomenal. Good luck finishing your projects.
