Carseat Covers- Handmade Baby Gifts {Day 3}

I decided to go to the movies with my sweet mother and sister and then go shoe shopping instead of finishing today's project. I think it was a wise choice. I got a fab pair of patent leather pumps for six bucks at Forever Young. It was one of those "Last Pair" discount sales. Black, which is exactly what I went in for so that was a bonus.

I just about have one of the two covers finished. This one needs the straps attached but I ran out of thread so I pinned them on for you. :)

I really want to learn how to quilt so I did a bit of piecing on them. I do believe it's all in the details on these kind of projects so I added some itty-bitty rick rack as well.

Here is a peek at the second cover I'm working on. I'll update my post with some more pics when I finish tomorrow. These are not the cheapest gifts ever, especially if you spruce them up with embellishments, but they sure are fun to make.

The top cover's fabrics are from Riley Blake's Simple Life line. The bottom is Riley Blake's Sweetest Thing. So many fabulous fabrics, so little time.
UPDATED PHOTOS-

 First button hole. Not the most amazing strap ever but I am growing and learning.

Super late night photo of car seat cover number 2. I did ruffles and snaps for the straps and rounded the edges.

  4. This is really sweet and unique, most covers are so bland and when you are supposed to give your baby stimulation and colours when they are awake it seems silly they end up under such dull covers. This is very cute. You should work on a universal colourful cute cover that protects from sun etc. I would certain buy it.
