Maxi Dress

Tuesday night I returned home from a night out with the family and felt like crafting. I didn't know what I was going to make but I grabbed a yard of fabric and some polka dot bias tape. My whole family was in bed so it was the perfect time to spread out on the floor. You see I have this fear of cutting into fabric and my project going south. For this reason I usually don't just experiment. That night I decide to not use a pattern or a tutorial and just see if I could do it. My perfectionist ways rarely go for such carefree cutting but I've got to grow somehow, right?

I used the tank top my daughter had worn that day as my guide and came up with this little maxi dress. I must say it's one of my most favorite things I've made. Especially when my daughter asked me if I was done making her "princess dress" so she could wear it.
