Lace Flowers

My daughter wears a skirt everyday...until she runs out of clean leggings or tights and I make her wear jeans. She loves to have her nails painted and wear jewelry but she hates having her hair done. If I'm lucky she'll let me get away with putting two ponies in the top. That is the only acceptable do. It's down and in her face and driving me crazy most of the time. So I make her new hair bows every so often so she'll wear them. Inevitably the newness wears off and then we are back to square one. However, for today we have our hair done. Hopefully when St. Patrick's Day comes around she'll go without getting pinched.

To make a lace flower select some lace (the green was thrifted and the cream was purchased here). For the green I used 3 feet of 5 inch lace. I folded it in half width wise (making it 2.5 inches wide) and ironed it so it would stay. Then with a thread and needle sew a loose line across the bottom along the fold the full length of the lace. Pull the thread tight which will cause the lace to curl. Situate the "curls" into a flower shape until you like the look of it and sew threw the layers. Add something snazzy to the middle. Attach to a headband or clip.
