Happy Valentine's Day, ya'll!! Today, I'm over at <a href="http://lilluna.com/mickey-and-minnie-baby-bib-tutorial/" target="_blank">Lil Luna</a> sharing a tutorial on how to make these fun little Minnie bibs. Head on over and check it out. <br />

<br />
Who doesn't love Dora? :) Ok, she seriously drives me crazy but kids seem to dig her. I'm whipping up these Dora backpacks for a customer. They are made of felt and stitched together. I just made a simple pattern for the backpack and used <a href="http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-sDa7wwEu_uM/TXWb5AsX41I/AAAAAAAABBw/pbU0FZ-P0as/s1600/Backpack.jpg&imgrefurl=http://ofpinksandfairytales.blogspot.com/2010/11/diy-dora-birthday-party-invites.html&h=1600&w=1236&sz=84&tbnid=Q4VkkDSOvvqsYM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=70&zoom=1&usg=__PRr9acXHFl9kFocxOz8iT2POKxQ=&docid=kGPseWmwzXTZ3M&sa=X&ei=M1AQUeSMD6mCiwKitoGAAw&ved=0CDkQ9QEwAg&dur=660" target="_blank">this template</a> for the face.<br />
<br />
This set also includes a "map" invitation. I cut the face out using my Cricut. <br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkZRUOvbeXiv-3f4cg2LjqFln_hxj3Cj5o7iI_9_Q1tB4IWtJ9cgsBwRGo3v0lHn0BLSTn1SzuypZqyYVhpDeMhyphenhyphenduyQLLTf1ouNtDMy4mmZnTclM7JowAjWtboeySxKnsp8REDB1DAyzE/s1600/kiss+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Before" border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkZRUOvbeXiv-3f4cg2LjqFln_hxj3Cj5o7iI_9_Q1tB4IWtJ9cgsBwRGo3v0lHn0BLSTn1SzuypZqyYVhpDeMhyphenhyphenduyQLLTf1ouNtDMy4mmZnTclM7JowAjWtboeySxKnsp8REDB1DAyzE/s320/kiss+1.jpg" title="" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I stopped at Hobby Lobby to grab some yarn on Friday and my kids asked to check out the holiday decorations. I love and hate that they like to do this. I love it because I too like to look. On the other hand, I hate it because I usually end up wanting to buy a bunch of it or get new ideas for more projects to add to my "to do" list. My "to do" list is never-ending as is.<br />
<br />
This time we found these most attractive 6-inch tall glass letters. They were in the Christmas clearance section marked down 90%, making them $1.49 each. There weren't too many letters left to choose from, so after going through every short Valentines Day word I could think of (love, xoxo, Be Mine, etc...) I ended up with the choices of Hugs, Kiss, or SWAK.<br />
<br />
What leopard print has to do with Christmas I still haven't figured out. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2nOWK087sM1I8gLPamLvKxX_GrEONwgc3sQ9ZxHf3PoC95hsrffRjk8TYuCO8PfWk_wrhSnxc73oq7VyibQPrZpoIz7f3ptpV4CANuxTSjzsZj-9bwjvpAr-PgVf0rlKRf661D99zKO7F/s1600/kiss+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="DIY Valentine's Day Decor, Kiss Letters " border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2nOWK087sM1I8gLPamLvKxX_GrEONwgc3sQ9ZxHf3PoC95hsrffRjk8TYuCO8PfWk_wrhSnxc73oq7VyibQPrZpoIz7f3ptpV4CANuxTSjzsZj-9bwjvpAr-PgVf0rlKRf661D99zKO7F/s320/kiss+4.jpg" title="" width="320" /></a></div>
I love simple projects. With a can of spray paint (Krylon's Blue Ocean Breeze) I transformed my letters into turquoise goodness. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo0CU3r0gkiBx0_y-dMyiME30FzvfCAo0gLra226LXZ6j1P5r27liQX012OEKnDbqk4RgpSm2y0L3rCCu0gaks-890LTjIg5H9jfN3wEyKcRHxzBJmY2-C10VDbXQyihCpklp13HHalci-/s1600/kiss+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="DIY Valentine's Day Decor, Kiss Letters " border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo0CU3r0gkiBx0_y-dMyiME30FzvfCAo0gLra226LXZ6j1P5r27liQX012OEKnDbqk4RgpSm2y0L3rCCu0gaks-890LTjIg5H9jfN3wEyKcRHxzBJmY2-C10VDbXQyihCpklp13HHalci-/s320/kiss+2.jpg" title="" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The leopard print design was printed right on the letter (I thought it
was a sticker) so I only had to take off the price tags and paint. <br />
<br />

And a little Valentines Day treat idea for you too. I shared how to make the flower <a href="http://stubbornlycrafty.blogspot.com/2012/07/kindle-case-with-flower-how-to.html" target="_blank">in this post here</a>. <br />

<br />
Ugh, the temperature was in the negatives this morning. I'm chronically cold as it is and I'm pretty sure sitting in front of the fireplace all day with a blanket on is frowned upon. I do not function well when I'm an ice cube. My husband has been attempting (mostly teasing) to talk me into moving our family to the Bahamas. It sounds pretty enticing this time of year here in the snowy state of Utah. Making something to keep me warm sounded easier...though sitting in front of the fireplace with a blanket isn't so bad either.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFDACQ72E8sis9em1Z4Q7PxgvO3d_9QiqngkPt1y44yuMi0rciyi2lJ-LrxQmZU_MXihDoyKiXtLbwXvLlSxp8CAxzWdvnCwmMZ9L4Rpt8BQh1L1S9ZJaV5hu3cKDnx5dhriMXZck5R8TN/s1600/handwarmer+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="hand warmer" border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFDACQ72E8sis9em1Z4Q7PxgvO3d_9QiqngkPt1y44yuMi0rciyi2lJ-LrxQmZU_MXihDoyKiXtLbwXvLlSxp8CAxzWdvnCwmMZ9L4Rpt8BQh1L1S9ZJaV5hu3cKDnx5dhriMXZck5R8TN/s320/handwarmer+2.jpg" title="" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
I had a Moda Honey Bun (a precut roll of coordinating fabric- each strip is 1 ½ ” x 45”) on hand and sewed the strips together for the front. I then ironed it flat and cut it into 7.5"x11" squares. The back is fleece. Fill then with beans or rice and microwave for 90 seconds. I have one on my feet as we speak (I type). <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
You can also make an owl warmer <a href="http://stubbornlycrafty.blogspot.com/2011/08/stuffed-owl-pdf-pattern.html" target="_blank">using my free pattern here</a> for the kiddies. I embroidered some eyelashes on this one to make her a bit more girly.<br />

Another hobby I really love is making cards/paper crafting. I love my Cricut and Copics as much as my fabrics and sander. I just seem to go through stages of which I prefer most.<br />

<br />
Hi all! I've got a couple of smaller projects to share with you today. One day while my kids and I were buying fabric, my daughter picked out this stretchy and sparkly turquoise fabric and asked me to make her a scarf out of it. I purchased a third of a yard. I sewed the fabric length-wise into a tube, flipped it, then sewed the ends together, making a super quick infinity scarf. As you can see from the photo, she loves it. She usually refuses to have her picture taken without some sort of bribery involved. Today she posed for me without asking.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA-M6iG1lFE44UuEmHFSMPUJ5OCKO0djigDrRHdMJo2VjsDDRHVJD8N4mOaUIgoy8kNdXI2vQKKfWMvdiysqqenQUd_vJWyEtQF31HnX8QxkstTa_x0f93Wp9OqY3wRw2YvfMPoI9QMaNz/s1600/quick+and+easy+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA-M6iG1lFE44UuEmHFSMPUJ5OCKO0djigDrRHdMJo2VjsDDRHVJD8N4mOaUIgoy8kNdXI2vQKKfWMvdiysqqenQUd_vJWyEtQF31HnX8QxkstTa_x0f93Wp9OqY3wRw2YvfMPoI9QMaNz/s320/quick+and+easy+2.jpg" width="228" /></a></div>
<br />
I jumped on the bandwagon and cut the sleeves off an old sweater to make my own leg warmers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5EigRmZZeawW5Rp-38F5PmImKO7cy2AB4NnQIHDN-l73_V1QKOIpQlg9JLh_E_41J735bbrkE4ym15QBlEAa485wanT6ljHhLBzG_PkffZJXox1z0TONcqIz33l5yqonBHf6-82bJEFwn/s1600/stars+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5EigRmZZeawW5Rp-38F5PmImKO7cy2AB4NnQIHDN-l73_V1QKOIpQlg9JLh_E_41J735bbrkE4ym15QBlEAa485wanT6ljHhLBzG_PkffZJXox1z0TONcqIz33l5yqonBHf6-82bJEFwn/s320/stars+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
One of my fab friends was put in charge of the decor for our LDS ward's Christmas party. She had 1,500 stars cut out of an old book and we sewed them into a simple garland. I wrapped it around an empty cereal box as I went.<br />
<br />
It was the best decorated ward party I'd ever been to. Hands down. She rocks.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisE9IBOD_N-S6aD6UslFmXsG4OZcaLt6BjwYNIv2hgiHJX2BUwwMrv1v8CcN_yCvicvujGxcN3N3NvMQ1mvDEHNs5dXk1OvJ_KPojpgU3TMCkDQkhKHay5wzeV77iGI5pmrJ3aK81KIGe8/s1600/stars+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisE9IBOD_N-S6aD6UslFmXsG4OZcaLt6BjwYNIv2hgiHJX2BUwwMrv1v8CcN_yCvicvujGxcN3N3NvMQ1mvDEHNs5dXk1OvJ_KPojpgU3TMCkDQkhKHay5wzeV77iGI5pmrJ3aK81KIGe8/s320/stars+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And my quick and easy centerpiece for our kitchen table. Ornaments and jingle bells in a dish. The cut stars are really for the project above. :) Just spicing my lame-o photos up for you. <br />
<br />

<br />
Finished staining my new pre-Christmas gift from my hubby this morning. Master bedroom is coming along. The headboard is not at all like the one in my <a href="http://stubbornlycrafty.blogspot.com/2012/08/master-mood-board.html" target="_blank">mood board</a>, but after looking over my <a href="http://pinterest.com/lisasummerhays/bedrooms/" target="_blank">"bedrooms" pinterest board</a> and finishing my <a href="http://stubbornlycrafty.blogspot.com/2012/11/dresser-before-after.html" target="_blank">dresser</a>, I felt this better fit the feel we are going for. <br />
<br />
Anybody else rushing to get done with Christmas projects? I'm knee-deep in multiple projects and hoping they start wrapping up soon. I get to start unpicking now. Little issue to work out on my kids' gifts for their friends... <br />

<br />
Last year, I planned on making my daughter a holiday skirt to wear to all the festive parties but never did. This year, I was determined to follow through.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGReyDfiUN_l6Vcunjzs7d8fBgybD-3b9vlFaca_U3dJ1VxBEI1L1xC8xoTck7I1nCiMShzQGnCM3OS_fWDy6cBrUu7b3gkeS0461CiVGoCTCjTQ22otmgCf6bHBHRZioEoCdJ_IcsJ7n9/s1600/Christmas+skirt+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Season to hoot christmas tiered skirt, bubble skirt" border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGReyDfiUN_l6Vcunjzs7d8fBgybD-3b9vlFaca_U3dJ1VxBEI1L1xC8xoTck7I1nCiMShzQGnCM3OS_fWDy6cBrUu7b3gkeS0461CiVGoCTCjTQ22otmgCf6bHBHRZioEoCdJ_IcsJ7n9/s320/Christmas+skirt+2.jpg" title="" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
I made it up as I went and ended up with this fun little tiered number. I'm making a few more for a friend's little girls today and will take some pics to share. However, I liked how it turned out so much I couldn't wait to share it with you. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The fabrics used are Michael Miller's "Minnie Ta Dot" and "Season to Hoot". Love the owls.<br />
<br />
It's beginning to feel a little bit like Christmas. I've been waiting for that feeling to arrive...<br />

<br />
I do love to make banners. I made this one a few weeks ago and thought I'd do a mini tutorial on how I made the pieced heart.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieFf79TSRp3MiiCYWh6EU4n1debPBdYUEs1ZVIZYFG17n2ofcanMcQYuzKi_i9fDaHkjpLY8X0IzcizddTTmhZ8PUjAgUBqb51hvYAWevrS1CDrugOF0deSBGyB7ccPA8yEvzzFYkt79DL/s1600/banner+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieFf79TSRp3MiiCYWh6EU4n1debPBdYUEs1ZVIZYFG17n2ofcanMcQYuzKi_i9fDaHkjpLY8X0IzcizddTTmhZ8PUjAgUBqb51hvYAWevrS1CDrugOF0deSBGyB7ccPA8yEvzzFYkt79DL/s320/banner+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used three coordinating fat quarters and cut out four 1.5-inch strips from each.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6YG7wujvBo7KkaFcXeYPu8GvO6Nk6F_97bQA-XXbOdDnoms2PG_lc4t__8TfbGNz8wDCVG0I7yCMlPJb2ZGmbq8_eTOKm7Haj6cEECoLl4Zz4n6Cw1KDebGbNdCVuqxmQBbO7b1PjyqG3/s1600/banner+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6YG7wujvBo7KkaFcXeYPu8GvO6Nk6F_97bQA-XXbOdDnoms2PG_lc4t__8TfbGNz8wDCVG0I7yCMlPJb2ZGmbq8_eTOKm7Haj6cEECoLl4Zz4n6Cw1KDebGbNdCVuqxmQBbO7b1PjyqG3/s320/banner+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I then sewed them together using a 1/4-inch seam allowance.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_7S9mO_-lWbaDEfixdIN1QQePjOEbtJniaWHg4G4jRIFWUOOnz0CBCD6Rpbce5m6zihgPP128KpBwS9n9g4MsWaeg4gv4tNw6gXLPOU75XJ6SpBHEDSmtEZvlTVf9qJq-DdtGPQriaEZZ/s1600/banner+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_7S9mO_-lWbaDEfixdIN1QQePjOEbtJniaWHg4G4jRIFWUOOnz0CBCD6Rpbce5m6zihgPP128KpBwS9n9g4MsWaeg4gv4tNw6gXLPOU75XJ6SpBHEDSmtEZvlTVf9qJq-DdtGPQriaEZZ/s320/banner+4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It will come out looking a little something like this. Iron down all your seams.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx-TOMDbS96G_wkBWXqgYAmV2mksNxaS9mgwfiU3t7dFh9VDacW7Ib-dsnGLIW53e4YFe5d1uQJv1BIXOrmPxwPvBb-BK-qudk7aW3bTeInurdVV7ld1j3iHy75Q49zof0Mfz7ICqOjTMV/s1600/banner+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx-TOMDbS96G_wkBWXqgYAmV2mksNxaS9mgwfiU3t7dFh9VDacW7Ib-dsnGLIW53e4YFe5d1uQJv1BIXOrmPxwPvBb-BK-qudk7aW3bTeInurdVV7ld1j3iHy75Q49zof0Mfz7ICqOjTMV/s320/banner+5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
If you're making your hearts for a banner like I did, choose what size you want your squares (mine are 5.5"). Cut out a square of paper a half-inch smaller than your fabric square, fold it in half, and cut out a heart shape. I then used a vanishing ink marker to trace hearts on to the right side of the fabric. I staggered mine so they'd all look a little bit different.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJCAVlHeulLr_Worisn2Hft4Q42uq7X1mOg3tBOg04MpFyquh1oSFf4zg0S95kGDIKEBiZyRPRIOBNRt-kE7DB4WIcTT2OF_MBRpDgJqp9-DQ4khTNoqAIyRAzTGk9BONv7OIudz2q3PVf/s1600/banner+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJCAVlHeulLr_Worisn2Hft4Q42uq7X1mOg3tBOg04MpFyquh1oSFf4zg0S95kGDIKEBiZyRPRIOBNRt-kE7DB4WIcTT2OF_MBRpDgJqp9-DQ4khTNoqAIyRAzTGk9BONv7OIudz2q3PVf/s320/banner+6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Cut out your hearts and their you have it. To attached it to your banner square or other project, use Wonder Under or pin it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV1F-TZNsV4b1mok1JSZfVIwcs3WImUVeyBvC7WK4r0xQib6AbqbXhMYH17j4W19uobc6uC8kKrTZnOqiednHTTsZkb3d3o84wZWbFpl95CiADxKJ9jagPKA2shZblYRNLFEU2EweV6fk3/s1600/v-day+banner+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Valentine's Day applique heart banner handmade" border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV1F-TZNsV4b1mok1JSZfVIwcs3WImUVeyBvC7WK4r0xQib6AbqbXhMYH17j4W19uobc6uC8kKrTZnOqiednHTTsZkb3d3o84wZWbFpl95CiADxKJ9jagPKA2shZblYRNLFEU2EweV6fk3/s320/v-day+banner+1.jpg" title="" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Then sew around the perimeter to finish it off.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6xCy8yKNVp1miwWM1HDhiddKs8nP18n24joPq8TXa-1y6nKWCzIrNrWrBEJsTy1nLkcvl3rr2-oDW_FyRpc5vdmklsOMIaumH4EYy3LSw8k8e5YfuWMd-XTMJHM2UiDJBEI8BJ4UCeV72/s1600/v-day+banner+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6xCy8yKNVp1miwWM1HDhiddKs8nP18n24joPq8TXa-1y6nKWCzIrNrWrBEJsTy1nLkcvl3rr2-oDW_FyRpc5vdmklsOMIaumH4EYy3LSw8k8e5YfuWMd-XTMJHM2UiDJBEI8BJ4UCeV72/s320/v-day+banner+4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
I had a ward friend ask me if I'd make some fabric gift cards for her <a href="http://www.facebook.com/BabyBarePhotography?ref=ts&fref=ts" target="_blank">photography business</a>. She wanted them to be special and to look handmade but in a good way. <br />

<br />
I hope these meet the standard of "handmade in a good way". :) I printed her logo on some canvas-type fabric <a href="http://stubbornlycrafty.blogspot.com/2012/11/dinosaur-birthday-invitations.html" target="_blank">using this tutorial</a> and my fabulous friend's printer (we have a laser printer and I needed an inkjet). Then I attached it to some stiff felt. Here's hoping she loves them!<br />

I love this time of year and that I get to spend it with my family making fun crafts, eating yummy treats, and doing traditions like gingerbread houses and caroling. Bring it on. :)<br />

<br />
Happy December! I can't believe it's already here. My sister-in-law Marianne and I went shopping a few weeks ago and found these cute skates. We both purchased a set and then got together to make the bubble wreath (<a href="http://todaysfabulousfinds.blogspot.com/2011/07/burlap-bubble-wreath-tutorial.html" target="_blank">tutorial found here</a>) to dangle them in. It was one of the more frustrating projects I've done. The long quilting pins kept popping out. Hopefully it lasts through the month without me finding burlap square carcasses all over my porch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiPX6AfZc5_IVWQ3vJP22U5lxHV2nqMyJW3TJGnFvaj6AZr6ZdmxU3l5rZFvnu1iAVgJFnfC0gWzttawh9L3EQYFFiJkbQ8U3pC1fIRjzIzwNE8V0H7ZzqlEzwMXDuQvi6FcDHMPXEfz6i/s1600/Christmas+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Porch Decor, Christmas Greenery " border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiPX6AfZc5_IVWQ3vJP22U5lxHV2nqMyJW3TJGnFvaj6AZr6ZdmxU3l5rZFvnu1iAVgJFnfC0gWzttawh9L3EQYFFiJkbQ8U3pC1fIRjzIzwNE8V0H7ZzqlEzwMXDuQvi6FcDHMPXEfz6i/s320/Christmas+1.jpg" title="" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I also did a bit of green garland, lights, and ornaments on my porch railing. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8xZ84iSWfQoRCfSKKZ-UHBGTo3HagjL1gs8WvjctFaE4b8x5X1lfjgezq_e54ix6QX2J7EROqLUjpfuq6BPL6R35R7RugA2a6d4-Fa2waTGpLrONJcpFobHgTcpCYJmz5-DUjTYzl6zsP/s1600/Christmas+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Christmas Mantel, Christmas garland, Gold Christmas Decor" border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8xZ84iSWfQoRCfSKKZ-UHBGTo3HagjL1gs8WvjctFaE4b8x5X1lfjgezq_e54ix6QX2J7EROqLUjpfuq6BPL6R35R7RugA2a6d4-Fa2waTGpLrONJcpFobHgTcpCYJmz5-DUjTYzl6zsP/s320/Christmas+3.jpg" title="" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Holiday mantel. The gold ribbon garland is really less tame in color but it's the best photo I could do with the gloomy weather and poor lighting. The "<a href="http://stubbornlycrafty.blogspot.com/2011/10/jingle-all-way.html" target="_blank">Jingle All The Way</a>" is a project I posted about last year <a href="http://stubbornlycrafty.blogspot.com/2011/10/jingle-all-way.html" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I also made one of the oh-so-popular ornament wreaths. I recommend not using glass ornaments. I dropped it a few times...it became smaller and smaller. :)<br />
<br />

<br />
My son turned three earlier this month and after much deliberation asked for a dinosaur party. These are the invitations I made. I kept it simple and just stuck with a Cricut cut from Create-a-Critter.<br />
<br />
We had a dinner party and the late night photos of the party decor are pretty sad. Lesson learned. Earlier party or pre-party pics, check.<br />

<br />
Bibs are another one of my favorite things to make and are fun to personalize. I've posted a lot already and I'm sure there will be a lot more to come.<br />
<br />
Love this little ladybug bib. You can <a href="http://www.beverlys.com/baby-bibs.html" target="_blank">download the free pattern here</a>. <br />

<br />
I ran out to find more large white buttons last night but was unable to do so for the other bibs eyes. Hopefully I'll have better luck today. I kind of like them without too.<br />

<br />
Awhile I go I pinned this Moda <a href="http://www.modabakeshop.com/2011/11/cathedral-window-baby-playmat.html" target="_blank">tutorial for a cathedral window play mat</a>. My friend commented and asked if I'd make her one. I agreed and decided to make me one in the process.<br />
<br />

<br />
She came over and helped cut out the circles and then again to turn them and place them in a eye appealing pattern.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The fabrics are a mixture of Ruby and Vintage Modern lines from Moda.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhba_KCFWl-K0wFxvT3le97wWMbtELAjT1vXmV917h0eTYEUqU_W0lj1KCOQp_d9lwQ2Qgjd8mweielNurm21M2hxKkTetGQSxAOJz3ViEmiL5N3m4ko7JHFnFKZPivuv6APnAkVQ1vTeu_/s1600/play+mat+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhba_KCFWl-K0wFxvT3le97wWMbtELAjT1vXmV917h0eTYEUqU_W0lj1KCOQp_d9lwQ2Qgjd8mweielNurm21M2hxKkTetGQSxAOJz3ViEmiL5N3m4ko7JHFnFKZPivuv6APnAkVQ1vTeu_/s320/play+mat+2.jpg" width="227" /></a></div>
<br />
And here's what the back looks like. Go easy on me. I'm just learning this whole quilting thing. No cute babies here or even any to borrow at home to turn up the cuteness factor, guess these will have to do! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-KcYtOy8E4kLK1U6iaQnRBFelMxjYe-wr9JoZQAhP85fnixFqi4I3ScDqksrjMlo7tHA7hwvj7ivzy0SmRuIcf14HKlbuSc32nW5Hz9Nl9lXbmlqIgYVyUS3R_79BStUQG3KOiuTjYP3x/s1600/play+mat+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Bernina walking foot" border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-KcYtOy8E4kLK1U6iaQnRBFelMxjYe-wr9JoZQAhP85fnixFqi4I3ScDqksrjMlo7tHA7hwvj7ivzy0SmRuIcf14HKlbuSc32nW5Hz9Nl9lXbmlqIgYVyUS3R_79BStUQG3KOiuTjYP3x/s320/play+mat+1.jpg" title="" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
I started off using a regular quilter's foot on my new sewing machine until I remembered it came with a walking foot. It worked like a dream and made my job go so much smoother and easier. I am such a fan. Learning new things is the best, isn't it?<br />
<br />
Happy Thanksgiving! Just waiting for the rolls to finish rising and then we're off to the in-laws for dinner. After that, it's to my parents house to plan out Black Friday. Woot, woot!<br />
<br />

I think it was a wise choice. I got a fab pair of patent leather pumps for six bucks at Forever Young. It was one of those "Last Pair" discount sales. Black, which is exactly what I went in for so that was a bonus.<br />

<br />
I just about have one of the two covers finished. This one needs the straps attached but I ran out of thread so I pinned them on for you. :) <br />

I really want to learn how to quilt so I did a bit of piecing on them. I do believe it's all in the details on these kind of projects so I added some itty-bitty rick rack as well. <br />

Here is a peek at the second cover I'm working on. I'll update my post with some more pics when I finish tomorrow. These are not the cheapest gifts ever, especially if you spruce them up with embellishments, but they sure are fun to make.<br />
<br />
The top cover's fabrics are from Riley Blake's Simple Life line. The bottom is Riley Blake's Sweetest Thing. So many fabulous fabrics, so little time. <br />

<br />
Starting off with the easier stuff here, peeps. Anything I can make you can make, so don't think I'll be going all Martha on you by the end of the week. I promise not all the projects I'll be sharing are appliqued, too. I just have an applique addiction that needed to come out to play this week. I think it's out of my system now.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm8GXoPa8nE0poXZi34grclgeid9bynHy6cC3tknPHOVVYyINwEjlYAOr8JB8FMX7x-Ms5lihk9VcrJ6bNcjbAqT3FohynDwkYcc7L3Js3axREyGkiukGWf7qqF91rL7wBIk2qESP_6Isu/s1600/burp+cloth+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="applique flower, butterfly, burp clothes, baby gift" border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm8GXoPa8nE0poXZi34grclgeid9bynHy6cC3tknPHOVVYyINwEjlYAOr8JB8FMX7x-Ms5lihk9VcrJ6bNcjbAqT3FohynDwkYcc7L3Js3axREyGkiukGWf7qqF91rL7wBIk2qESP_6Isu/s320/burp+cloth+1.jpg" title="" width="217" /></a></div>
<br />
Um yes, moving on. Burp clothes! Easy, low cost to make, and you can <span style="font-size: small;"><a href="http://naturesheirloom.blogspot.com/2011/07/simple-burp-cloth-tutorial-wfree.html" target="_blank">download a free pattern</a></span> from Nature's Heirloom. If you can sew a semi-straight line you can make a burp cloth. So many ways to dress them up too. Add a little applique, some rick rack, or leave them plain. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR6fmkYV2pTsaVhE-NugZwKEaFhlfVbL6NWI7IxDrEcJr9Y-CEGgBFqceMU5gOD1LX4FNdcSgAN_AOE7Q1M_BKM0Fz-Fs7fVxaWFCgJ3kyFl_guNnL-hzLfgeqkplOTkcmLl4aTb275MEH/s1600/burp+cloth+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="baby boy burp cloths" border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR6fmkYV2pTsaVhE-NugZwKEaFhlfVbL6NWI7IxDrEcJr9Y-CEGgBFqceMU5gOD1LX4FNdcSgAN_AOE7Q1M_BKM0Fz-Fs7fVxaWFCgJ3kyFl_guNnL-hzLfgeqkplOTkcmLl4aTb275MEH/s320/burp+cloth+3.jpg" title="" width="235" /></a></div>
<br />
Make a matching set (some of those to come) and you've got yourself a great little handmade gift.<br />

<br />
Quick and pretty easy baby gift idea number one- appliqued onesies. I say "pretty easy" because even if you've appliqued before, stitching around each piece while you have this onesie smashed up around your sewing machine foot is tricky. Especially if you're working with a 0-3 or 3-6 month size. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjouWCYW1T04i1mIIJErYzmRGMdb2i-2oS0nkxp10XRIZpQ1w82ufedc2rcI4-B7JQWeCAtHUzJkED-y93hUZMbNF3PWLF905xNHt4ncDqBWWdcw7IczTJ6MlV51fN3g9QcyMRjNT08V-mw/s1600/onesies+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="handmade baby gift, girl, owl onesie" border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjouWCYW1T04i1mIIJErYzmRGMdb2i-2oS0nkxp10XRIZpQ1w82ufedc2rcI4-B7JQWeCAtHUzJkED-y93hUZMbNF3PWLF905xNHt4ncDqBWWdcw7IczTJ6MlV51fN3g9QcyMRjNT08V-mw/s320/onesies+3.jpg" title="" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
I used Pellon Wonder Under (#805) and some fabric scraps. You can get the onesies for two bucks each. If you've never used Wonder Under before, I show how to <a href="http://stubbornlycrafty.blogspot.com/2012/08/monster-bib-pattern-tutorial.html" target="_blank">in this tutorial here</a>. You can get a roll that will make a jazillion of these at Joann's for 10$...and that's before you use your coupon. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYNVYCO476ShagfwOUWMIQOQzO91VslANh49Y1PfucW-ZEifrFpGFQNYyHHxVlz3te_-eFaIQkQrIHJJy5yIgucHp-Jjgsi93eE-4HviAb4-ORInu9sW054_EvjkFuvgNTUEBsiI3oqbtR/s1600/onesies+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="applique by hand owl baby gift, handmade, bird" border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYNVYCO476ShagfwOUWMIQOQzO91VslANh49Y1PfucW-ZEifrFpGFQNYyHHxVlz3te_-eFaIQkQrIHJJy5yIgucHp-Jjgsi93eE-4HviAb4-ORInu9sW054_EvjkFuvgNTUEBsiI3oqbtR/s320/onesies+4.jpg" title="" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
You can <span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rosipachworkquilting/5334311681/sizes/z/in/faves-greicebuggiganga/" target="_blank">download the owl pattern here</a></span> to make your own. Who doesn't love owls?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Got to jet. I have my "how to use your Bernina" sewing class tonight (oh yes, I bought a new sewing machine thanks to my husband going halfsies with me. He's the best!) and haven't done the homework yet. Ten minutes to sew some button holes and make myself look presentable is plenty of time, right? <br />

I love fall. Best time of the year, in my opinion. Silly thing is I have the least amount of decorations. Here's a look at what my mantel looks like this month. I'm hoping to score a few more barn-wood-type frames today to add. Fingers crossed.<br />

This is my favorite Thanksgiving card I made last year. I'm not going to renew my card site (I think it goes down next week) so I thought I'd share it here.<br />
<br />
I had three new nieces born end of October/beginning of November and friends with babies too. So handmade baby gifts are happening here in large quantities. Starting Monday I'll be doing a baby week with baby gift ideas to share with you everyday. Hopefully you can get some inspiration. <br />

It's done. It's finally done. The snow was my motivation to hurry it up. It definitely took longer than I thought it would. Thankfully, I my little sister was willing to be roped into helping me with the sanding. Brilliant idea on my part. I got to spend time with her and get all the sanding done in half the time it would take me by myself. Thanks, Sierra!<br />

I love how it turned out and am excited to have an attractive piece of furniture in my bedroom. Our old dresser is so downright ugly, I hid it in the closet. Can't wait to move it out and get a few more shoe racks. Then I have an excuse to go shoe shopping, right?<br />
<br />
This was my first go at staining. It took more coats than I thought it would but was fun to watch the top transform in the process. My first time using paste finishing wax too. Love that stuff! It was so quick and easy with very little mess. I'm sold. <br />

There's my cute little family. I wrapped the canvas myself and didn't do the most amazing job. My husbands head was so close to the top I had to really work at not cutting his head off while wrapping. I bought the photo (20X30) at Costco for eight bucks. The canvas was the matching Pooh Bear to my <a href="http://stubbornlycrafty.blogspot.com/2012/11/diy-canvas-art.html" target="_blank">Eeyore canvas redo</a>. <br />

I had some decorated shelves hung in our downstairs bathroom, but when workers installed our french doors in the kitchen, it all fell off the wall and broke. So sad. So I needed to come up with a cheap Plan B. It ended up being free.<br />
<br />
I used the above Eeyore canvas that used to hang in my daughter's room when she was young. She loved the "My Friends Tigger and Pooh" cartoon. I had fabrics from the same line of my living room curtains on hand too.<br />
<br />

<br />
I painted the canvas (3 coats to cover). Ironed squares of fabric onto stabilizer and then cut them out using an OLFA fabric circle cutter. I then modge-podged the circles onto the canvas.<br />
<br />
Issue: the modge podge in one area (the blue circle) didn't dry so pretty. How does one fix this?? Anybody? I tried washing it with a damp cloth but that didn't work. Other than that it's fun and free so we give it two thumbs up.<br />

A little late, I know. I just didn't think about it. If you remember back to my <a href="http://stubbornlycrafty.blogspot.com/2012/02/living-room-suggestions-accepted.html" target="_blank">living room suggestion post</a> I had my dream mantel picked out but not installed. I didn't think to take a photo of it all decorated until I was taking my decorations down. It's still new to me. I'm hoping to tweak the mantel a bit still and then I'll post about it more in-depth. <br />

I'm planning on condensing my two blogs into one so I'll be sharing a few of my favorite cards I make from time to time now as well. Hope you're all card lovers. :) This is a fun bat-shaped card I made using Cricut's "Simply Charmed" cartridge. <br />

My kids love to do "projects." Daily they are asking me, "can we do a project?" So we drag out the papers, glue, scissors, beads, whatever we can think of and make something together. My five year old, Mallory, also loves to draw. I adore her drawings. Consequently, we accumulate a lot of art work that usually ends up lying around on the countertops and tables. <br />

<br />
I made it our art wall. I spray painted a bunch of frames I purchased second-hand and filled them with cork board that I purchased by the roll at Joann's.<br />
<br />
I did hand prints on fabric with my kids too and embroidered their names underneath using hoops to display them. I also made an appliqued "made by me" sign. <br />

<br />
Our house is loved and well decorated by my little ones. I'm glad they love to craft as much as I do. <br />

I'm baaaaaaack. Sorry about the break. It wasn't intentional. I'd craft everyday if I could but work took over my time. I'm taking time off, though, so get ready for some serious posting! So excited to have more time for my kids, husband, and crafting. And some house work in there too. Anyway, on to today's post:<br />
<br />
I made these fun burlap trees and whipped up a tutorial for you while hosting craft night. Craft night starts at 8:30pm so please excuse the not so stellar photos.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-vm-1GbIepEg_xzNNn-DE-Nt9maCHiPssPcAh9_ewFEXMo27ZktiD33FW2JlOUVbbuXoEyxZLQui0Fdhq_iniKlEDsTBCH7hPD7Xy3o0VtygMOVQrypEnt8XpoSpkqqTpSRc4t_lh8K4K/s1600/tree+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-vm-1GbIepEg_xzNNn-DE-Nt9maCHiPssPcAh9_ewFEXMo27ZktiD33FW2JlOUVbbuXoEyxZLQui0Fdhq_iniKlEDsTBCH7hPD7Xy3o0VtygMOVQrypEnt8XpoSpkqqTpSRc4t_lh8K4K/s320/tree+2.jpg" width="217" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Supplies Needed:</b><br />
<ul>
<li>1 yard burlap </li>
<li>cutting mat & rotary cutter or scissors </li>
<li>14 gauge wire </li>
<li>lighter weight craft wire</li>
<li>wire cutters</li>
<li>small pliers </li>
<li>wooden star</li>
<li>trunk (3.5"x3.5"x1" block)</li>
<li>hot glue gun/glue stick </li>
<li>Bells or whatever you'd like to decorate your tree with </li>
</ul>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9RwAfY6dtE-9Rep2umisrXZ2wYDnwCF1akwJRfAJmU8Q-OMJb49xVJVqNtLTKNzfeCdfr6gHOMWaGsMvsKAlbUD7G_R6_HoUou9GaqGE7S8rGFHJJW27lViLk4S0NHyqmwJXalFyMQd85/s1600/tree+collage+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9RwAfY6dtE-9Rep2umisrXZ2wYDnwCF1akwJRfAJmU8Q-OMJb49xVJVqNtLTKNzfeCdfr6gHOMWaGsMvsKAlbUD7G_R6_HoUou9GaqGE7S8rGFHJJW27lViLk4S0NHyqmwJXalFyMQd85/s320/tree+collage+1.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
Cut your burlap into 2 inch strips. Cut your self a piece of 14 gauge wire 41 inches long. measure in on both sides 16 inches and bend into a triangle shape. Bend the tops of each triangle at the top one inch in. This will be the base for your star to attach to. One at a time, fold your burlap strips back and forth like an accordion making the length of each fold equal to the width (approximately 2x2). Using the end of your wire like a needle, thread the middle of your accordion onto the wire. It takes a bit of muscle and is easiest if you do a few layers at a time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv4b1O7X2fXoXVpeGxIqABbJ5WuX3pYSmZvixVQpmvYApo-zOy6xZEWnFI27_pQpc8Puk-2bR4VrGuKOAEMieueMSQ40bki4Q0wNcMbgZPhhwdlRfN7Bztq3S5aAo9XIGhwMWu_qM5UJI8/s1600/tree+collage+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv4b1O7X2fXoXVpeGxIqABbJ5WuX3pYSmZvixVQpmvYApo-zOy6xZEWnFI27_pQpc8Puk-2bR4VrGuKOAEMieueMSQ40bki4Q0wNcMbgZPhhwdlRfN7Bztq3S5aAo9XIGhwMWu_qM5UJI8/s320/tree+collage+2.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
The top photo in the above collage shows what it should look like threaded on. Keep adding your strips until it's full enough for your liking. When finished, wrap one of the tops of your wires around the other. Drill a hole in the bottom of your star and hot glue it onto the wire sticking up. We had my friend's husband cut ours out but if purchasing from the craft store, I'd leave both wires up and hot glue the star on both. Then position your burlap so that the exposed wire is covered. This will secure your burlap and keep it from springing off. Then decorate, attach your bells or other desired holiday goodness to your tree with a hot glue gun. To attach your block, drill two small holes at the top of the block and thread your thinner wire through. Then attach that wire to your main wire at the base of the tree. Do it loosely or it will smash your burlap at the bottom and lay funky. <br />
<br />

<br />
I really enjoy making banners. There are so many ways you can personalize them, they are a pretty quick project, and they are easy too. Here are just a few of the banners I've made this month.<br />
<br />
First one has two different size flags. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-hR42ERCCNJE-LU3ks61MhnurC_KiqdgAAMTvfzKQYekXFESeNHtMEILqJwa_rOPiwtpteQkN7rW7DqpRO9WJinaJ6lMUQSt-5jx2CADksWXekfVVuUkZemVswnVYEvXCronK_EuoyN_9/s1600/garland+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-hR42ERCCNJE-LU3ks61MhnurC_KiqdgAAMTvfzKQYekXFESeNHtMEILqJwa_rOPiwtpteQkN7rW7DqpRO9WJinaJ6lMUQSt-5jx2CADksWXekfVVuUkZemVswnVYEvXCronK_EuoyN_9/s320/garland+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
A no sew rag tie garland. All it takes is strips of fabric and a rope or ribbon to tie your strips onto. I used 1x9 inch strips and added a few bells to give it a bit more personality. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5mC-1s3LsI20wGtpWHlctDJm6ezUVprns5NOECPclensDFqiW_jIDy-QG8oR77m3Q_Pcns7VowxlPFy_jXl595DXd67UuWJHiDZp8MKNHYlXY2I7gfWG3e1k32URyPkkoZ-nl1JAWmpB8/s1600/fall+banner+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5mC-1s3LsI20wGtpWHlctDJm6ezUVprns5NOECPclensDFqiW_jIDy-QG8oR77m3Q_Pcns7VowxlPFy_jXl595DXd67UuWJHiDZp8MKNHYlXY2I7gfWG3e1k32URyPkkoZ-nl1JAWmpB8/s320/fall+banner+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPYzTEEzJYbyZBJ9wgqlEZUtjgxLgsJN5LhCX4L6K7z2uC836jLHlGYF-XjB0gj7kKwzSlgnPuV-int-CN08fb1mxhENtoT4FLIbPINKjnlTF8ekXnpBUXKsacKXMXqUy5z7JDfUYcR8e4/s1600/garlands+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
Fall-themed scalloped banner.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPYzTEEzJYbyZBJ9wgqlEZUtjgxLgsJN5LhCX4L6K7z2uC836jLHlGYF-XjB0gj7kKwzSlgnPuV-int-CN08fb1mxhENtoT4FLIbPINKjnlTF8ekXnpBUXKsacKXMXqUy5z7JDfUYcR8e4/s1600/garlands+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPYzTEEzJYbyZBJ9wgqlEZUtjgxLgsJN5LhCX4L6K7z2uC836jLHlGYF-XjB0gj7kKwzSlgnPuV-int-CN08fb1mxhENtoT4FLIbPINKjnlTF8ekXnpBUXKsacKXMXqUy5z7JDfUYcR8e4/s320/garlands+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I helped finish off the above Halloween banner for my sister-in-law. I used jumbo black rick rack that I sewed to the back of the flags and then braided some smaller orange and purple rickrack together for the front. The banner reads, "Happy Halloween" in silver paint and has a couple buttons on each end. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_GtW9lZvk0lZ5SQvSCzEDS6KsUAbjFIQLsLFV5O_VyaW2ZAyZ6RbnkkwTcidqIAW13Y7SmFb2027PI627HT5AEhSeYxqdoJnGvDSBbCFD7X1KUkqx7056NG-eCMac_6j2resYkowVeBPh/s1600/garlands+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_GtW9lZvk0lZ5SQvSCzEDS6KsUAbjFIQLsLFV5O_VyaW2ZAyZ6RbnkkwTcidqIAW13Y7SmFb2027PI627HT5AEhSeYxqdoJnGvDSBbCFD7X1KUkqx7056NG-eCMac_6j2resYkowVeBPh/s320/garlands+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSNAPzS7HsEJcS_Tx7UX7hVOgj6P4AnQuQSM9LokQxz42y0MLgpux6iNSKqsqBmLhOxCH7CAy9-yHWdR8zXhR9wJx_x8qhkWIu3LLbSc0PO0B_4Rqjrcr-R4V8bhVEpByfm3ZFvbyryVn9/s1600/garlands+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSNAPzS7HsEJcS_Tx7UX7hVOgj6P4AnQuQSM9LokQxz42y0MLgpux6iNSKqsqBmLhOxCH7CAy9-yHWdR8zXhR9wJx_x8qhkWIu3LLbSc0PO0B_4Rqjrcr-R4V8bhVEpByfm3ZFvbyryVn9/s320/garlands+3.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
And lastly, I made these baby-themed banners for a newborn baby photographer. I added lace to the girl banner and left the boy banner plain.<br />
<br />
You can find the first three banners <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/StubbornlyCrafty">in my shop here</a>.<br />

I first spray painted the top of the board green. I then dry brushed some orange paint over top that and let it dry. The "trick or treat" is a Cricut cut from the <a href="http://www.cricut.com/Shopping/detail--Cricut-Happy-Hauntings-Cartridge-0-1028.aspx">Happy Hauntings cartridge</a>. I cut it out of cardstock and then used spray adhesive to attached it to my board. I then did a coat of black spray paint to cover the entire board, carefully removed the cardstock, and distressed the edges.<br />
